Julia has taught writing workshops  with companies including: Cyrano's Theatre, NotableActs Theatre (at the University of New Brunswick), the University of Toronto, Roseneath Theatre, the Bishop Strachan School. She also teaches group classes independently, focused on craft, creativity, and honing a project. She has spoken on educational panels at the Atlantic International Film Festival; Canadian Film Festival, and the Toronto Fringe Festival, the Austin Film Festival.

Julia approaches teaching with curiosity and a focus on developing authentic and imaginative voices, She enjoys working with all kinds of writers and stories. Specialities include: world building, text-based work,  and adaptation.
